Dr. Parker lends years of professional expertise to his work with North Oaks Health System

COVINGTON, LA, September 15, 2021 – James M. Parker, MD, has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After being involved in a serious accident that affected many, Dr. Parker became driven to help others. That initial spark was reinforced when he attended high school, during which time his friend’s father suffered a heart attack and collapsed next to him in the stands of a football game. Inspired by these experiences, Dr. Parker earned a Bachelor of Zoology from Louisiana State University in 1995, a Master of Science in neuroelectrophysiology from Louisiana State University in 1999 and a Doctor of Medicine from the University’s School of Medicine in 2004.

Upon graduating from medical school, Dr. Parker completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology from the LSU Health Sciences Center. Following these accomplishments, he became certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease through the American Board of Internal Medicine. Supported by his considerable expertise, Dr. Parker serves today as a medical executive board member, interventional cardiologist and cardiac arrhythmia specialist with North Oaks Health System, where he previously worked as the chief of staff.

Due to his career accomplishments, Dr. Parker has been honored several times, including with recognition as the Physician of the Year through the North Oaks Health System in 2019. Within the coming years, he intends to experience the continued growth of his career. Ultimately, Dr. Parker aims to remain aware of changes in the field and continue to utilize new programs to further enhance the quality of his patients’ lives.
